  On some systems, EVERY new email will pop up a notify box (BUG #774)

Status:
  No clue what is going on here.  This happens most often in mbox but it
  looks like pop3 is affected too.  This should *never* happen in maildir
  or imap4

  Once an animated icon appears, it will never go away.  This only happens
  if the *next* icon is a pixmap -- the pixmap will never replace the GIF.
  (BUG #695)
